Bishop of Sorsogon
Bishop Jose Alan Verdejo Dialogo, Bishop of Sorsogon, was born on July 10, 1962, in Lagonoy, in the Diocese of Daet. After high school he obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Nueva Caceres, and subsequently attended courses in philosophy and theology at Holy Apostles Senior Seminary. In 1999 he obtained a licentiate in spirituality from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained a priest for Manila on July 31, 1996. He then served as parochial vicar of San Roque parish in Mandaluyong (1996-1997); vice-rector and dean of seminarians at Holy Apostles Senior Seminary for adult vocations in Guadalupe, Makati City (1999-2002); rector of the same seminary (2003-2008); and parish priest of St. John of the Cross parish in Pembo, Makati City (2008-2015). From 2015 he served as director of the Cardinal Sin Welcome Home in Manila. On October 15, 2019, he was appointed Bishop of Sorsogon. He received episcopal ordination on December 12, 2019, with Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle as principal consecrator and Gaudencio Borbon Rosales and Arturo Mandin Bastes as co-consecrators. He was installed as Bishop of Sorsogon on December 14, 2019.
