Archbishop Edouard Georges Daher

Archimandrite Eduard Daher, B.C., was born on April 23, 1973, in Quaa, in the Bekaa Valley (Lebanon). He entered the minor seminary of the Basilian Soarite Order in 1985 and made his solemn profession on August 28, 1994. After completing his institutional philosophical and theological studies at the "Saint Paul" Institute in Harissa and the "Saint Esprit" University in Kaslik, he obtained a licentiate in canon law from "La Sagesse" University in Beirut. He was ordained a priest on May 8, 1999. He has held various positions within his Order: assistant novice master (1999–2001); Rector of the Basilian Soarite seminary (2001–2003); religion teacher and assistant bursar at the Oriental College in Zahlé (2003–2004); Superior of the "Saint Antoine" Convent in Karkafé (Kfarchima) (2004–2010); Third General Assistant (since 2007); and Superior of the "Saint Elie" Convent in Zahlé (since 2010). He has served as parish priest of the Greek-Melkite churches of "Notre Dame" in Bois de Bologne (1999–2001), "Sainte Thècle" in Kfarchima (2004–2005), and "Saint Elie" in Zahlé (since 2010). He has worked at the Greek-Melkite Ecclesiastical Tribunal since 2001 and has served as a judge since 2010. In 2012, he received the title of Archimandrite. In addition to Arabic, he speaks French and English.
