Bishop of Torit
Emmanuel Bernardino Lowi Napeta was born on December 19, 1973, in Kapoeta, in the Diocese of Torit. He attended St. Augustine Minor Seminary in Khartoum (1994–1995) and subsequently St. Paul Major Seminary in Khartoum (1996–2003). On October 24, 2004, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Khartoum. He held the following positions and pursued further studies: Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish in Omdurman, Khartoum (2004–2007); Director of the Institute of Catechists for the Third Millennium, Khartoum (2007–2010); he obtained a Baccalaureate in Educational Sciences – Religious Education (2010–2012) and a Licentiate in Education – Youth Ministry and Catechetics at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome (2012–2014); Assistant Parish Priest of St. Peter and Paul Parish, Khartoum (2014–2017); and, since 2017, Parish Priest of St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Archdiocese of Khartoum.
