Bishop of Tulsa
David A. Konderla was born on June 3, 1960, in Bryan, Texas, in the Diocese of Austin. He attended Saint Joseph School and Bryan High School in Bryan. Before entering the seminary, he worked as a metalworker and was the owner—and subsequently the manager—of a small factory. He pursued his ecclesiastical studies at Holy Trinity Seminary and the University of Dallas, and later at Saint Mary Seminary in Houston. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Austin on June 3, 1995. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar at Saint Louis Parish in Austin (1995–1997) and Saint Luke Parish in Temple (1997); Parochial Vicar at the Saint Mary Catholic Center at Texas A&M University in College Station (1997–2001); Director of Priestly Vocations (2001–2005); member of the Personnel Board (2004–2011); and member of the Presbyteral Council (2008–2011). Since 2005, he has served as Pastor of the Saint Mary Catholic Center at Texas A&M University in College Station and as a diocesan consultor. In addition to English, he speaks Spanish.
