Bishop of Uromi
Donatus Aihmiosion Ogun, O.S.A., was born on October 12, 1966, in Sapele, Delta State, in the Diocese of Warri. After attending primary and secondary school in Benin City, he worked for a brief period. In 1986, he began his postulancy at the Augustinian Friary in Jos; he entered the novitiate in 1988, made his first profession in the Order of St. Augustine on August 28, 1989, and his solemn profession on August 28, 1992. He completed his studies in philosophy and theology at St. Augustine Major Seminary in Jos. He was ordained a priest on July 31, 1993. Following his ordination, he held the following positions and pursued further studies: 1993–1996: Bursar of the Our Lady of Good Counsel Community in Iwako Oka, assistant to the Novice Master, parochial vicar, and school chaplain; 1996–2001: Doctoral studies in Canon Law at the Pontifical Gregorian University; 2001–2002: Prior and Bursar of the Our Lady of Lourdes Community in Coker Village, Lagos; 2002–2005: Master of professed theology students and Bursar at the Augustinian Friary in Jos; 2005–2008: Prior and Bursar of the Our Lady of Good Counsel Community in Iwako Oka and university chaplain; 2008–2012: Bursar of St. Cyprian’s in Warri and Episcopal Vicar for Religious in the Diocese of Warri; since 2012: Master of philosophy students at the Makurdi formation community and lecturer at St. Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary in the same city; since 2013: Director of his Order’s new institute, the St. Augustine Institute, in Makurdi.
