Bishop Anthony Adoun Hongsaphong

Anthony Adoun Hongsaphong was born on April 4, 1964, in Paksé, within the Apostolic Vicariate of Paksé. He studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Charles Boromée Major Seminary, obtaining his degree from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. He was ordained a priest on September 3, 1994, for the clergy of the Apostolic Vicariate of Paksé. He has held the following positions and pursued further studies: Licentiate in Canon Law from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome (1994–1996); Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand (1997–1999); Judge at the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Tharé-Nonseng, Thailand (1997–2005); Parish Priest of Holy Family Parish in Ban Nongkhu, Thailand (1999–2005); Rector of the *Pastor Bonus* Propaedeutic Seminary in Paksé, Laos (2005–2014); Parish Priest of the Cathedral and Coordinator of the 12 Catholic communities in the Apostolic Vicariate of Paksé (2005–2014); Professor of Canon Law, Sacramental Theology, Ecumenism, and Introduction to Sacred Scripture at the National Major Seminary in Thakeh (since 2005); and Coordinator of pastoral care for the 11 mission stations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Paksé (since 2014).
