Bishop of La Ceiba; Apostolic Administrator of Yoro
Jenrry Johel Velásquez Hernández was born on July 23, 1977, in San Antonio la Cuesta, San Jerónimo (Honduras). He studied Philosophy and Theology at the *Cristo Sumo Sacerdote* Major Seminary of the Diocese of Comayagua and obtained a Licentiate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. He was ordained a priest on December 7, 2002. He has held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of *Nuestra Señora del Carmen* in Siguatepeque and Prefect of Studies at the Major Seminary of the Diocese of Comayagua (2003–2004); Director of the Propaedeutic Year (2005); Formator at the *Cristo Sumo Sacerdote* Major Seminary (2010–2021); Professor of Sacred Scripture (since 2010); Member of the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of Comayagua (since 2020); and Parish Priest of *Nuestra Señora del Carmen* in Lamaní (2021–2024). Since 2025, he has served as Rector of the *Cristo Sumo Sacerdote* Major Seminary and as a member of the College of Consultors.
