Bishop Tadeusz Lityński, Bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów, was born on June 14, 1962, in Kożuchów, in the Diocese of Zielona Góra-Gorzów. Having passed his secondary school examinations, he was admitted in 1982 to the major seminary at Gościkowo-Paradyż. He was ordained a priest for Gorzów on June 5, 1988. From 1988 to 1993 he was assistant parish priest at Ołobok and at Głogów. From 1993 to 2008 he worked in the diocesan tribunal, first as notary and then as defender of the bond. From 2000 to 2006 he was also parish priest of the Most Holy Trinity parish at Ochla, and from 2006 to 2012 parish priest of Christ the King at Gorzów Wielkopolski. At the same time, from 2008 to 2012, he was a judge of the diocesan tribunal, a member of the presbyteral council and a member of the college of consultors, and from 2011 to 2012 episcopal vicar for pastoral care. On April 28, 2012, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Cemerinianus and Auxiliary Bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów. He received episcopal ordination on June 16, 2012, with Celestino Migliore as principal consecrator and Stefan Regmunt and Andrzej Dzięga as co-consecrators. On November 23, 2015, he was appointed Bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów, and he was installed on January 5, 2016. Within the Polish Episcopal Conference he has served as a member of the commission for Poland and Poles abroad and as delegate for the pastoral care of forestry workers and of those engaged in water management and environmental protection.
