Bishop of Babahoyo
Skiper Bladimir Yánez Calvachi was born on February 5, 1972, in Machachi, in the Province of Pichincha and the Archdiocese of Quito. He completed his ecclesiastical studies at the Seminary of Quito and obtained a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Quito on June 29, 1996. He has served as a parochial vicar, pastor of various parishes, professor, director of the archdiocesan historical archive, notary of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of First Instance in Quito, and chaplain to several high schools. He currently serves as a judge at the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of First Instance in Quito, chancellor of the archdiocesan curia, director of the archdiocesan ecclesiastical bulletin, member of the Metropolitan Cathedral Chapter, pastor of "San Juan Bautista" in Sangolquí, and episcopal vicar for the "Valle de los Chillos y Machachi" zone.
