László Varga was born in 17 August 1956 in Tapolca (archdiocese of Veszprém). He carried out his philosophical and theological studies first in the seminary of Szeged, and then at the Academy of Theology in Budapest. He was ordained a priest on 17 April 1982 in Tapolca, and incardinated in the diocese of Veszprém. Subsequently, in 1993, he passed to the new diocese of Kaposvár. He has published various books of a spiritual nature. After priestly ordination he held the following offices: vicar in the parish of Várpalota (1982-1987) and parish priest of Somogysámson (1987-1993). He is currently pastor of the parish of Saint Emeric of Kaposvár (since 1993), chancellor of the diocesan curia (since 2009), and vicar general of the diocese of Kaposvár (since 2013).
