Archbishop Fabio Dal Cin

The Pope has appointed Msgr. Fabio Dal Cin—of the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto and formerly an official of the Congregation for Bishops—as Archbishop-Prelate of Loreto and Pontifical Delegate for the Shrine of Loreto, as well as Pontifical Delegate for the Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua. H.E. Msgr. Fabio Dal Cin, Archbishop-Prelate of Loreto: Msgr. Dal Cin was born in Vittorio Veneto on January 23, 1965. After attending the diocesan minor and major seminaries, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto on December 7, 1990. In 1990, he was appointed parochial vicar of the Cathedral of Motta di Livenza. In 1988, he was called to serve as animator of the youth community at the diocesan minor seminary and as deputy director of the Diocesan Vocations Center. He pursued specialized studies at the Institute of Pastoral Liturgy of Santa Giustina in Padua, where he obtained a Licentiate in Sacred Theology with a specialization in pastoral liturgy. In 2000, he was appointed Episcopal Delegate for Vocations Ministry and Director of the Diocesan Vocations Center; in 2001, he became a professor of liturgy at the Treviso-Vittorio Veneto Interdiocesan Theological Institute. In 2003, he was assigned the roles of animator of the major seminary and episcopal master of ceremonies. In 2004, he was appointed a member of the commission for the formation and ministry of permanent deacons. Since March 2007, he has served as an official of the Congregation for Bishops. In 2011, he earned a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm in Rome. Since 2012, he has held the title of Chaplain of His Holiness. He has provided spiritual care at the Shrine of Madonna della Quercia in Rome. May 20, 2017.
