Bishop Felice Ba Htoo

Bishop Felice Ba Htoo, Bishop of Pekhon, was born on April 27, 1963, at Sonbalan, in the Diocese of Pekhon. He studied philosophy and theology at St. Joseph's Catholic Major Seminary in Yangon, and he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Pekhon on April 4, 1991. He afterwards continued his studies in Rome, obtaining a licentiate and a doctorate in spiritual theology. He served as assistant parish priest at Hwarikhy from 1991 to 1993 and at Mobye from 1995 to 1997, as rector of St. Theresa's intermediate seminary at Taunggyi from 1997 to 2000, as rector of St. Michael's Major Seminary at Pekhon from 2008 to 2011, and as spiritual director and professor at St. Joseph's Major Seminary in Yangon from 2011 to 2019. He was secretary to the Bishop of Pekhon from 2019 to 2021 and a visiting professor at the Loikaw-Taunggyi major seminary in 2022, and from 2022 he has been diocesan director of the Missionary Society of the Holy Childhood. At the time of his appointment as bishop he was also diocesan chancellor and parish priest of the Mother of God parish at Mobye. On March 25, 2024, he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Pekhon. He received episcopal ordination on June 29, 2024, at Pekhon, with Basilio Athai as principal consecrator and Peter Hla and Celso Ba Shwe as co-consecrators. He succeeded as Bishop of Pekhon on February 2, 2026.
