Archbishop Vítor Agnaldo de Menezes, Archbishop of Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil, was born on 15 June 1968 in Curaçá, in the Diocese of Juazeiro, in the State of Bahia. He studied philosophy at the Institutum Sapientiae in Anápolis-GO and theology at the Universidade Católica do Salvador-BA. He was ordained a priest on 18 April 1998 for the Diocese of Jequié. He held the following offices: parish priest of the parishes of São Roque in Lafaiete Coutinho-BA, Nossa Senhora Aparecida in Jequié-BA, the Cathedral of Santo Antônio in Jequié-BA, and Nossa Senhora das Graças in Maracás-BA; rector of the major seminary; diocesan advisor for the missionary dimension; representative of the clergy; member of the presbyteral council and of the college of consultors; diocesan coordinator of pastoral ministry; coordinator of Missionary Childhood and secretary of the Nordeste 3 region of the Brazilian Episcopal Conference; national secretary of the Pontifical Missionary Work in Brasília-DF; and collaborator of the metropolitan cathedral. Appointed Bishop of Propriá on 25 October 2017, he received episcopal ordination on 6 January 2018.
