Bishop of Vicenza
Giuliano Brugnotto is Bishop of Vicenza, Italy. The Holy Father accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Vicenza presented by Bishop Beniamino Pizziol and appointed Msgr. Giuliano Brugnotto, until then vicar general of the Diocese of Treviso, as Bishop of the same diocese. Bishop Giuliano Brugnotto, Bishop of Vicenza, was born on 7 November 1963 in Carbonera, in the Diocese of Treviso. He attended the minor and major seminary of Treviso and was ordained a priest on 19 May 1990. He obtained a doctorate from the Faculty of Canon Law of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 1996. He carried out the following assignments: parochial vicar in Silea, from 1990 to 1991; responsible for episcopal celebrations, from 1995 to 2001; educator in the theological community of the major seminary, from 1997 to 2004; episcopal delegate for the ongoing formation of young clergy, from 2004 to 2010; he launched the Saint Bertilla University Chaplaincy, sharing the service with the religious community of the Dorothean Sisters Daughters of the Sacred Hearts, from 2005 to 2010; director of the diocesan liturgical office, from 2006 to 2010, and chancellor of the diocesan curia, from 2010 to 2018; rector of the minor and major seminary, from 2018 to 2021, and ecclesiastical assistant of the public association of faithful Cooperatrici pastorali diocesane, from 2014 to 2021; defender of the bond at the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of the Triveneto Ecclesiastical Region, from 1997 to 2008, and member of the cathedral chapter from 2011. In addition, he was a member of the regional presbyteral commission of Triveneto from 2007 to 2013 and of the Italian presbyteral commission from 2008 to 2013. He taught canon law in various institutes, in particular at the San Pio X Faculty of Canon Law in Venice, from 2003, where he was also dean from 2014 to 2019. At the time of the source, he was vicar general and a member of the episcopal council, the College of Consultors, the presbyteral council, the diocesan pastoral council, and the diocesan council for economic affairs.
