Archbishop of Camagüey
Pino Estévez was born in Camagüey on October 12, 1950. He pursued his ecclesiastical studies first at the "San Basilio" Minor Seminary in Santiago de Cuba and later at the "San Carlos y San Ambrosio" Major Seminary in San Cristóbal de La Habana. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Camagüey on August 1, 1975. Subsequently, he held the following positions: from 1975 to 1980, he was Parochial Vicar of Nuevitas; from 1980 to 1988, administrator of the Florida parish. From 1985 to 1995, serving two terms, he was National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies; from 1988 to 1994, Pastor of Santa Cruz del Sur. From 1997 to 1998, he headed the Diocesan Committee that coordinated the Holy Father's visit to Camagüey; since 1994, he has been Pastor of La Merced and Rector of the Diocesan House; since 2004, he has served as Episcopal Vicar for the city of Camagüey. He is also the Director of the Camagüey Diocesan Bulletin.
