Thomas Ignatius Macwan was born on October 14, 1952, in Bhavnagar (then part of the Diocese of Ahmedabad, now under the new Eparchy of Rajkot). He pursued his studies both in his home country and in Rome at the Angelicum, where he obtained a Licentiate in Spirituality. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Ahmedabad on April 9, 1988. He has served as an assistant parish priest, parish priest, and vicar forane. He is currently the parish priest of Nadiad and the Episcopal Vicar for the Anand-Kheda District.
