Bishop Miguel Ángel Cabello Almada

Bishop Miguel Ángel Cabello Almada, Bishop of Villarrica del Espíritu Santo, was born in Piribebuy, Diocese of Caacupé, Paraguay, on 4 September 1965. He completed studies in philosophy at the National Major Seminary in Asunción and studies in theology at the Higher Institute of Theology of the Catholic University Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. He obtained a licentiate in pastoral science at the Catholic University in Asunción, and a licentiate and doctorate in dogmatic theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained priest on 15 September 1991 for the Diocese of Caacupé. He held the following pastoral offices: responsible for the Santuario Dulce Nombre de Jesús parish in Piribebuy; formator at the National Propaedeutic Seminary of Villarrica; diocesan vicar for pastoral ministry; adviser for diocesan vocational ministry; vicar of the parish of Tobatí; professor at the Higher Institute of Theology in Asunción; vicar of the Primero de marzo parish in Caacupé; and, from 2009, spiritual director of the National Propaedeutic Seminary in Caacupé.
