Archbishop Alberto Torriani

The Holy Father has appointed Alberto Torriani—a priest of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Milan and formerly Rector of the Collegio San Carlo in Milan—as Archbishop of Crotone-Santa Severina. Archbishop Alberto Torriani was born on November 3, 1971, in Bollate, in the province and Archdiocese of Milan. After entering the Archdiocesan Seminary of Milan, he obtained a Baccalaureate in Theology. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Milan on June 10, 2000. He has held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of San Biagio, as well as Assistant and Deputy Principal of the San Biagio parish school in Monza (2000–2011); Vicar for Youth Ministry for the “Ascensione” pastoral community (2003–2011); member of the diocesan Presbyteral Council (2010–2011); and Rector of the Collegio Rotondi in Gorla Minore (2011–2016). From 2016 to 2017, he served as Pro-Rector of the Collegio Arcivescovile San Carlo in Milan, and he has been its Rector since 2017.
