St. Philip's Art and Environment Committee is dedicated to designing, decorating and maintaining the worship space. By utilizing floral arrangements, banners, and seasonal accents they create a beautiful, prayerful atmosphere that enhances the liturgical experience. This committee operates year round to reflect the changing liturgical seasons and feasts.

Bethany Ministry

Bereavement

The Bethany Ministry was established in September 2018. Its purpose is to provide support and a "ministry of presence" to those who are facing the loss of a loved one. Members assist at Funeral Masses by serving and, if needed, helping with distributing the Eucharist and proclaiming the Word of God. They will also be involved in the annual Parish Memorial Mass celebrated around the solemnity of All Souls.

Lectors

Ministers of the Word, or Lectors, assist at parish liturgies on Sunday and weekdays by proclaiming the first two readings during the Liturgy of the Word. In the absence of the Deacon, lectors are called to proclaim the intercessions of our parish during the Prayers of the Faithful.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

Oblikovanje v veri

During the school year a special "Children's Liturgy of the Word" is provided for our young people at the 10am Mass on those Sundays when Religious Education is being held. Children are dismissed before the opening prayer and return to their families after the homily.

Ushers

Liturgical

The role of an usher is to provide order and decorum within the church building during services. They assist in locating seating for attendees, as well as taking the collections. They arrange for the selection of representatives of the congregation to bring up the offerings at the offertory. They also assist during emergencies and help in the distribution of the parish bulletin at the end of Mass. This ministry is open to men and women alike.
