Archbishop of Mbandaka-Bikoro
Ernest Ngboko Ngombe, C.I.C.M., was born on May 25, 1964, in Kanya Mbonda, in the Diocese of Lisala. He pursued his studies in Philosophy at the Saint Augustin Institute in Ngoya, Yaoundé, Cameroon (1988–1990), and in Theology at the Saint Cyprien Institute, also in Ngoya, Yaoundé (1990–1994). He made his first vows in the Congregation of the Missionaries of Scheut on October 17, 1987. He was ordained a priest on June 20, 1996, in Dakar, Senegal. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1996–2010: Missionary in Senegal, serving first as parochial vicar and later as parish priest of Saint Abraham in Guediawaye, on the outskirts of Dakar; 2001–2010: Superior of the C.I.C.M. Autonomous District of Senegal for three consecutive terms; 2010–2011: Licentiate studies in Theology at the Catholic Theological Union (C.T.U.) in the United States; 2011: Rector of the Theological Seminary in Cameroon and C.I.C.M. Coordinator for the Africa Region. Since 2011, he has served as Vicar General of his Congregation, residing in Rome.
