Temporary Chat (Incognito)

A Temporary Chat (sometimes called Incognito) lets you use Magisterium AI without saving the conversation to your history.

Start a temporary chat

  1. At the top of the chat screen, click the ghost icon (Temporary Chat).
  2. A new temporary chat opens with a banner that says "This chat won't be saved."
  3. Use it just like a normal chat.
The Magisterium AI chat home page for a signed-in user. The main column shows the greeting 'Good afternoon! How can I help?' above an empty prompt input, with widget chips (Holy Widgets icon, Daily Mass Readings, Saints of the Day, Confession Guide) below. The left sidebar lists New Chat, Search, Source Library, My Library, Holy Widgets, News, About, Blog, Developers, then a 'Chat History' group of recent chats and a 'Test User' avatar at the bottom. The header has a sidebar-toggle and notification icons; the Temporary Chat (ghost) icon appears here for logged-in users when no chat is open.

You can also start one by navigating to magisterium.com/?incognito=1.

What's different

  • The conversation is not saved to Chat History when you close the tab or navigate away.
  • It does not contribute to your personalized memory.
  • You can't pin or share a temporary chat.

What is the same

  • Your weekly prompt limits still apply.
  • Citations still work.
  • The UI behaves like a normal chat.

Ending a temporary chat

Navigate to any other page or start a New Chat from the sidebar. The temporary chat closes and nothing is kept.

When it's handy

  • Exploring a sensitive question you'd rather not keep in history.
  • Testing how Magisterium AI answers without mixing it into your saved records.
  • Using a shared device where you don't want your chat to remain.
