Archbishop of Antsiranana
Rev. Fr. Benjamin Marc Ramaroson, C.M., was born in Manakara (Diocese of Farafangana) on April 25, 1955. After completing his primary and secondary education and obtaining a baccalaureate in mathematics, he enrolled at the State University of Antananarivo for two years. He subsequently entered the Congregation of the Mission (Lazarists), made his religious profession on October 15, 1980, and was ordained a priest on August 15, 1984. Following his ordination, he served as parish priest of the Farafangana Cathedral; studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University, where he obtained a doctorate in spiritual theology; was appointed Superior of the Lazarist scholasticate in Fianarantsoa and lecturer in moral theology; and served as Director of the Lazarist novitiate. Since 2001, he has served as Provincial Superior of the Lazarists in Madagascar.
