Bishop Bertram Víctor Wick Enzler

Bertram Víctor Wick Enzler was born in Waldkirch, in the Diocese of St. Gallen (Switzerland), on March 8, 1955. He attended middle and high school at the Verbist College in Marienburg and obtained his baccalaureate in Lucerne. In 1980, he entered the Major Seminary in Innsbruck. In 1990, he was sent as a missionary to the Archdiocese of Portoviejo, joining the Ecuadorian Institute "Santa Maria del Fiat." He was ordained a priest on December 8, 1991, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Guayaquil. He served as a parochial vicar for three years, and in 1994, he was appointed parish priest on the Santa Elena Peninsula. In 2005, he was transferred to the Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish in Guayaquil. In 2009, he served as parish priest at the Santa Madre de la Iglesia parish in Los Ceibos and subsequently at Santa Elena. He currently also holds the office of Episcopal Vicar.
