Archbishop of L'Aquila
Msgr. Antonio D'Angelo was born on 2 March 1971 in Castelmauro, Campobasso, diocese of Termoli-Larino. He graduated as an industrial expert and began his university studies in Bologna. He then entered the San Pio X Pontifical Regional Seminary of Abruzzo and Molise in Chieti, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in theology. He was ordained a priest on 14 September 1996. In 2008 he obtained a licentiate in Pastoral Theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome and in 2018 a diploma from the Higher Institute for Formators at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He has held the following positions: from 1996 he was parish vicar, parish administrator and parish priest of San Giovanni Battista in Colletorto and from 2005 to 2007 director of diocesan Caritas; in 2005 he became canon of the Co-cathedral Basilica of Larino and in 2007 vice-rector of the Pontifical Regional Seminary Abruzzese-Molisano San Pio X in Chieti; from 2007 to 2012 he was director of the diocesan Vocations Pastoral Office and from 2008 member of the Presbyteral Council; in 2010 he was appointed treasurer of the Regional Seminary. From 2016 until now he has served as rector of the Pontifical San Pio X Regional Seminary Abruzzese-Molisano in Chieti. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Italian Presbyteral Commission of the CEI. From the Eastern Churches.
