Chaplain at the Zillisheim Episcopal College; parochial vicar at Altkirch (1993–1996). Period at the Discalced Carmelite monastery in Montpellier (1996). Director (1997–2000) then Superior of the Major Seminary of Strasbourg (2000–2008). Head of communications for the archdiocese (2007–2011). Auxiliary Bishop of Strasbourg (2008–2011).
