Bishop of Chile
Pedro Mario Ossandón Buljevic was born in Santiago, Chile, on October 16, 1957. He pursued his ecclesiastical studies in philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and in theology at the Pontifical Major Seminary of Santiago. He obtained a Licentiate in Theology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He was ordained a priest on December 20, 1986, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Santiago, Chile. As a priest, he held the following positions: parochial vicar at the "San Gregorio" and "Cristo, Nuestro Redentor" parishes; parish priest of "Santa Cruz de Mayo de la Villa O’Higgins"; professor at the "Instituto Teológico para la América Latina" in Bogotá; and Deputy Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference of Chile. From 2006 to 2008, he served as Episcopal Vicar for the "Northern Zone" of the Archdiocese of Santiago, Chile. On November 4, 2008, he was appointed Titular Bishop of La Imperial and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Concepción. He received episcopal ordination on December 12 of that same year.
