The extraordinary ministers are the many lay people who help carry Christ to the community. The role of the Eucharistic or Extraordinary Minister is to assist the smooth execution of the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ. Extraordinary Ministers can also assist in bringing Communion to the sick or homebound.
Bereavement
Friends In Time of Need is a committee that provides a luncheon for family and friends after a parishioner’s death. This service is offered free of charge, however, we do accept donations at the time of the gathering.
Health & Wellness
H.I.S. Ministry or Hearts in Service is one way our parish can support each other. The group attempts to send cards, and make phone calls or visits to all our fellow parishioners who are ill, grieving, or struggling in some way. The group is careful to keep the information we share confidential.
Liturgical
The role of the lector is to proclaim the Word of God at Mass.
Pro-Life
Our Pro-Life Committee participates in various activities promoting the Catholic belief that Life begins at conception and ends with natural death. The main events that we participate in are 40 Days 4 Life and Lifechain Sunday. Ongoing efforts include praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet every Wednesday morning, First Friday Adoration and Benediction from 9 am to Noon, and placing an article in our bulletin once a month that includes pro-life messages and meditation.
Formatio fidei
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process through which non-baptized men and women enter the Catholic Church. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer, and rites at Mass. Participants in the RCIA are known as catechumens.
Social Justice & Outreach
Helping Hands provides food or financial assistance to help those in the community who are in need. The group meets on Tuesdays at 9 am.
