Archbishop of Cambrai
Archbishop Vincent Dollmann, Archbishop of Cambrai, France, was born on 19 August 1964 in Mulhouse, in the archdiocese of Strasbourg. After his secondary studies, he entered the major seminary in Strasbourg, while also beginning his academic studies in theology. At the end of the first cycle of seminary training, he spent two years with the Spiritan Fathers in the Islands of Mauritius. He obtained a Diplome d'Etudes approfondies (DEA) in theology at the end of the five-year theological programme. In 1995-1996 he completed his training at the Institut de Formation des Educateurs du Clerge in Paris. He was ordained a priest on 24 June 1990 for the archdiocese of Strasbourg. He held the following offices in the archdiocese of Strasbourg: chaplain of the Youth Seminar at Walbourg from 1990 to 1996; spiritual director of the major seminary from 1996 to 2009; preacher and confessor at the Cathedral; member of the diocesan office for Catholic teaching and the diocesan office for vocations; and in 2006, pastor of the Sainte-Madeleine parish in Strasbourg and vice-rector of the seminary. From 2009 to 2012 he was an official of the Congregation for Catholic Education and spiritual director at the Pontifical French Seminary in Rome. On 17 May 2012 he was elected to the titular see of Korcula and appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Strasbourg. He received episcopal consecration the following 2 September. Within the French Episcopal Conference he is a member of the Doctrinal Commission.
