Msgr. François Halyday Mbouangui was born on 4 October 1977 in Mindouli, diocese of Kinkala. After studying philosophy at the Mgr Firmin Singha National Major Seminary of Brazzaville, he studied theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University of Rome. He was ordained a priest on 14 July 2007. After ordination, he first served as personal secretary to the current bishop, then chancellor of the diocese, head of youth pastoral care and cooperator at the parish of Saint-Louis in Nkayi (2007-2009), and parish vicar of San Rocco, Pedemonte (2009-2013) and Santa Maria Assunta, Manerba del Garda (2013-2023). He was awarded a licentiate in science of communication (2013) and a master’s degree in publishing and journalism from the University of Verona. Since 2023, he has served as director of the diocesan Social Communication Centre, member of the Council for Economic Affairs, and parish vicar of Saint-Michel in Madingou-Poste.
