Bishop of Le Havre
Jean-Luc Brunin is Bishop of Le Havre, France. Jean-Luc Brunin has been Bishop of Le Havre since 2011. He was born on 14 January 1951. He was ordained a priest on 11 April 1981. He was appointed bishop on 20 April 2000 and consecrated bishop on 28 May 2000. He is the son of Jean Brunin, a textile worker who died in 1980, and of Mrs. Brunin, née Éliane Leuridant, deceased. His formation included letters at the University of Lille III, a canonical licentiate, and habilitation for the doctorate in theology. His ministries included teacher and pastoral animator at Saint-Michel College in Roubaix; priest in the worker world, in the southern sector of Roubaix, from 1980 to 1995; professor of theology at the seminary of Lille and professor of practical theology at the faculty of theology of the Catholic Institute of Lille, from 1986 to 2000; coordinator of the Workers' Mission for the Roubaix zone, from 1992 to 1995; superior of the interdiocesan seminary of Lille-Arras-Cambrai, from 1995 to 2000; Auxiliary Bishop of Lille, from 2000 to 2004; Bishop of Ajaccio, from 2004 to 2011; and responsible for the team Emprise et dérives sectaires dans l'Église catholique, from 2021 to 2024. His episcopal motto is Jusqu’à ce qu’il vienne, Until he comes.
