Archbishop Mark Steven Rivituso

Archbishop-elect Mark Steven Rivituso was born on 20 September 1961 in Saint Louis, Missouri, in the metropolitan archdiocese of the same name. He studied at Cardinal Glennon College Seminary and at Kenrick Seminary in Saint Louis. He subsequently obtained a licentiate in canon law from Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Canada. He was ordained a priest for the metropolitan archdiocese of Saint Louis on 16 January 1988. He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Ambrose in Saint Louis (1988-1990) and of Immaculate Conception in Dardenne Prairie (1990-1993), teacher at Saint Dominic High School in O’Fallon (1998-1993), administrator of Saint Margaret of Scotland in Saint Louis (1993-1994), member of the Metropolitan Tribunal (1993-1994 and 1996-2004), parish vicar of Saint Jerome in Bissell Hills (1996-2004), judicial vicar of the Court of Second Instance (2005-2011), parish priest of Curé of Ars in Shrewsbury (2008-2013), and vicar general (2011-2018). He was appointed titular bishop of Turuzi and auxiliary of Saint Louis on 7 March 2017, and received episcopal consecration the following 2 May.
