Bishop of Santo André
Born on May 4, 1952, in the city of Caconde, São Paulo, Monsignor Pedro Carlos Cipolini entered the Ipiranga Central Seminary in 1973, representing the Diocese of Franca (SP). He was ordained a priest on February 25, 1978, and incardinated into the clergy of Campinas in 1987. Monsignor Pedro holds a doctorate in Theology from the Gregorian University in Italy. In 2003, he was appointed by the president of the CNBB (National Conference of Bishops of Brazil) as a member of the theological commission of experts for the Commission on the Doctrine of the Faith; he serves as an advisor to the Commission for the Defense of Life of the Archdiocese of Campinas and was appointed a member of the Metropolitan Chapter of Campinas on March 16 of this year. The solemn installation of the new Bishop of Amparo will take place on October 24 at 4:00 PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Amparo (Catedral Nossa Senhora do Amparo).
