Bishop of Celaya
Bishop Víctor Alejandro Aguilar Ledesma, Bishop of Celaya, was born on April 5, 1965, in San Guillermo. He studied at the seminary of Morelia and obtained a licentiate in family ministry from the Lateran University in Rome. He was ordained a priest for Morelia on December 10, 1989. As a priest he served as parochial vicar, head of the diocesan secretariat for evangelisation and catechesis, chaplain of the Poor Clare sisters, diocesan coordinator of family ministry, and diocesan assistant of the Christian Family Movement. He also served as parish priest of El Señor de la Clemencia at Curumbatío, episcopal vicar for pastoral zone IV, a member of the college of consultors, and professor at the major seminary of Morelia. On December 1, 2015, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Castulo and Auxiliary Bishop of Morelia. He received episcopal ordination on February 25, 2016, at Morelia, with Alberto Suárez Inda as principal consecrator and Christophe Louis Yves Georges Pierre and Carlos Suárez Cázares as co-consecrators. On June 12, 2021, he was appointed Bishop of Celaya, and he was installed on July 12, 2021. His episcopal motto is "Hágase".
