Curial Bishop of Alexandria (Coptic)
Hani Bakhoum Kiroulos was born in Cairo on May 4, 1974. After earning a degree in Telecommunications Engineering and completing his theological studies, he was ordained a priest on December 29, 2004. He obtained a doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Lateran University. He served in Sudan (2002–2004), as parochial vicar of the Saint Irenaeus parish in Rome (2004–2005), and as vice-rector of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Lebanon (2005–2010). Since 2010, he has served as private secretary to the Patriarch, Secretary of the Assembly of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops of Egypt, a judge at the Patriarchal Tribunal, and a lecturer at various Catholic academic institutions in Egypt and abroad. In 2010, he participated as an expert in the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Church in the Middle East. Since 2015, he has served as the Administrative Vicar of the Patriarchate. He has published several articles in Arabic and Italian. In addition to Arabic, he speaks Italian, English, and French.
