Bishop of Bauru
Fr. Rubens Sevilha, O.C.D., until now Provincial of the São José Carmelite Province and Parish Priest of Santa Terezinha Parish in the Archdiocese of São Paulo, assigning him the titular episcopal see of Idassa. Fr. Rubens Sevilha, O.C.D., was born on September 29, 1959, in Tarabaí, in the Diocese of Presidente Prudente, in the State of São Paulo. After his preparatory studies, he entered the Order of Discalced Carmelites, making his first religious profession on February 3, 1980, and his perpetual profession on March 24, 1984. He completed his philosophy studies at the Nossa Senhora Medianeira Faculty of Philosophy in São Paulo (1980–1982) and his theological studies at the Pontifical Theological Faculty "Teresianum" in Rome (1982–1985). As a Carmelite religious, he held the following positions: Master of Postulants and Parochial Vicar in Caratinga (1987–1989); Master of Novices in São Roque (1990–1993); Provincial of the São José Province, based in São Paulo (1994–1996); Superior of the Convent and Parish Priest of Santa Terezinha Parish in the Archdiocese of São Paulo (1997–2002); Superior of the Convent and Parish Priest of Santa Terezinha Parish in the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro (2003–2005); Religious Assistant to the Santa Teresa de Jesus Association of Discalced Carmelites (1996–2010); and Provincial Councilor of the São José Carmelite Province (2008–2011). Since 2008, he has been the Parish Priest of Santa Terezinha Parish in the Archdiocese of São Paulo, and since 2011, he has been serving his second term as Provincial of the São José Carmelite Province. Msgr. Joaquim Wladimir Lopes Dias was born on October 23, 1957, in Cafelândia, in the Diocese of Lins, in the State of São Paulo. After completing his preparatory studies in his hometown and in Bauru, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Administration in Jundiaí. He entered the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Seminary of the Diocese of Jundiaí, where he pursued studies in philosophy. He completed his theological studies at the Pio XI Salesian Theological Institute in São Paulo. On December 12, 1997, he was ordained a priest and incardinated into the clergy of the Diocese of Jundiaí, where he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of São Sebastião Parish in Itupeva (1997–1998); Diocesan Coordinator of the Cursilhos de Cristandade Movement (1997–1998); Pastor of São Francisco de Assis Parish in Campo Limpo (1999–2000); Pastor of Nossa Senhora da Piedade Parish in Várzea Paulista (2001–2002); Vice-Rector (2003–2006) and Rector of the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Diocesan Seminary (2006–2009); Vicar General (2006–2009) and Diocesan Administrator (2009). Since 2010, he has served as Vicar General of the Diocese of Jundiaí.
