Archbishop of Cap-Haïtien
Launay Saturné was born on January 14, 1964, in Delatte (Petit-Goâve), in the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince on March 10, 1991. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: parochial vicar at the Sacré-Coeur de Turgeau parish in Port-au-Prince (1991–1997) and director of the propaedeutic house in Jacquet for the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince. From 1998 to 2003, he pursued further studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, obtaining a doctorate in Dogmatic Theology (Ecclesiology). From 2003, he served as director of studies and professor of theology at the Interdiocesan Major Seminary in Port-au-Prince. Additionally, from 2004 he headed the committee responsible for Marian pastoral care in the same archdiocese, and from 2005 he served as national secretary of the Commission for Youth Pastoral Care in Haiti. On April 28, 2010, he was appointed Bishop of Jacmel and received episcopal consecration on May 29 of that year. Since November 2017, he has served as President of the Haitian Episcopal Conference.
