Archbishop Jaime Calderón Calderón

Msgr. Jaime Calderón Calderón was born in Churintzio, diocese of Zamora, on 1 May 1966. Following his formation in the seminary of Zamora, he was ordained a priest on 16 February 1991 and incardinated in the diocese of Zamora. After ordination he obtained a licentiate in philosophy from the Pontifical University of Mexico, and then a Ph.D. in philosophy from the Gregorian University in Rome. He has served as parish vicar, prefect, vice-rector and rector of the major seminary of Zamora, coordinator of the presbyteral council, secretary of the college of consultors, judge in the ecclesiastical Tribunal and president of the Organization of Mexican Seminaries. On 5 July 2012 he was appointed as titular bishop of Giomnio and auxiliary of Zamora. He received episcopal consecration on 5 October 2012.
