Bishop of San Justo
Bishop Eduardo Horacio García, Bishop of San Justo, was born on January 22, 1956, in Buenos Aires, in the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires. Having obtained a primary teaching diploma at the national college of San Justo, he entered the seminary of Buenos Aires for his studies in philosophy and theology. He was ordained a priest for Buenos Aires on November 18, 1983. After ordination he served as parochial vicar (1984-1987); parish priest in three different parishes (1984-2003); director of the review Pan y Trabajo (1985-1995); diocesan head of ministry to children (1991-2003); and spiritual director at the major seminary of Buenos Aires (2000-2010). On June 21, 2003, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Ipagro and Auxiliary Bishop of Buenos Aires. He received episcopal ordination on August 16, 2003, at Buenos Aires. On November 6, 2014, he was appointed Bishop of San Justo, and he was installed on December 14, 2014. Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference he has served as a member of the commission for social communications and as national assessor of Catholic Action.
