Archbishop of Mariana
Dos Santos was born on June 25, 1956, in Bom Repouso, in the Archdiocese of Pouso Alegre; he studied philosophy at the FAI ("Faculdades Associadas do Ipiranga") and theology at the "Nossa Senhora da Assunção" Theological Faculty in São Paulo. He obtained a licentiate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He was ordained a priest on December 8, 1985, and subsequently held the following positions: parochial vicar in Santo André and formator at the philosophy seminary (1986–1997); regional vicar (1987–1990); member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors (1987–1998); and diocesan coordinator for vocation and family ministry (1992–1997). He is currently the parish priest of the Cathedral of Santo André, as well as the diocesan chancellor and bursar.
