Archbishop of Paraná
Raúl Martín was born on October 9, 1957, in Buenos Aires. He obtained a Licentiate in Theology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (Universidad Católica Argentina). He was ordained a priest on November 17, 1990, and incardinated into the same Archdiocese. He held the following positions: parochial vicar and parish priest in various parishes; deputy archdiocesan coordinator for children's pastoral care; ecclesiastical assistant to the *María Sede de la Sabiduría* Catechetical Seminary; and member of the Presbyteral Council. On March 1, 2006, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Troina and Auxiliary Bishop of Buenos Aires, receiving episcopal ordination on May 20, 2006. On September 24, 2013, he was appointed Bishop of Santa Rosa on September 24, 2013, and took possession of the diocese on November 30, 2013. Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Council for Economic Affairs. He is a professor of theology (having studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina). He was ordained a priest by Archbishop Cardinal Antonio Quarracino.
