Bishop of Mangochi
Montfort Stima was born on December 27, 1957, in Neno (Blantyre). He completed his primary education in Neno and his secondary education at the Pius XII Archdiocesan Seminary in Blantyre. He pursued his studies in philosophy at the Kachebere National Seminary and in theology at the Zomba National Seminary. He was ordained a priest on August 3, 1986, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Blantyre. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1986–1988: Parochial Vicar in Namlenga; 1988–1990: Parish Priest of Kadikira; 1990–1994: Parish Priest of St. Pius in Blantyre; 1994–1998: Studies for a Licentiate in Pastoral Theology at Gonzaga University (Seattle, USA); 1998–2001: Rector of the Archdiocesan Minor Seminary; 2001–2005: Parish Priest of Njuli and Parish Priest of Blantyre Cathedral; from 2005: Vicar General of Blantyre. He also served as Director of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Office and the Office for Catechesis.
