Bishop of Prizren-Prishtina
Dodë Gjergji was born in Stublla, Kosovo (Yugoslavia), on January 16, 1963. He was ordained a priest on August 15, 1989, for the Diocese of Skopje-Prizren. Subsequently, he worked on the editorial staff of the magazine *Drita* and oversaw the publication of liturgical books in the Albanian language for his home diocese. From 1991 to 1994, he served as chaplain to the Albanian community in Croatia; he then served as parish priest in Kallmet, in the Diocese of Lezhë (Albania), where he remained as a *fidei donum* priest from 1994 to 2000. On February 5, 2000, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Sapë. On November 25, 2005, he was elected Bishop of Sapë and received episcopal ordination on January 5, 2006. During the preceding five-year period, he served as Secretary General of the Albanian Episcopal Conference. In addition to Albanian, he speaks Serbian, Croatian, Italian, and German.
