Archbishop of Przemyśl-Warszawa (-Warsaw) (Ukrainian)
Eugeniusz Mirosław Popowicz was born on October 12, 1961, in Człuchów, Poland. After completing his secondary education, he was admitted to the Major Seminary in Lublin in 1981 and ordained a priest on October 17, 1986, in Stargard Szczeciński. Following his ordination, he held the following positions and roles: parochial vicar in Elbląg and Pasłęk; student at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome, where he earned a doctorate in Eastern Canon Law; judicial vicar and lecturer at the Major Seminary in Lviv; episcopal vicar and parish priest in Górowo Iławeckie and Lelkowo; lecturer at the Basilian Fathers' Major Seminary in Przemyśl; and member of the Presbyteral Council, the College of Consultors, and the Council for Economic Affairs. From 1996 to 2013, he served as parish priest of the Byzantine Cathedral in Przemyśl and Protosyncellus of the Archeparchy. Appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Byzantine Archeparchy of Przemyśl-Warsaw on November 4, 2013, he was consecrated on December 21 of that same year. He speaks Polish, Ukrainian, Italian, Russian, and English.
