Bishop of Gregorio de Laferrere
Torres Carbonell was born in Buenos Aires on April 22, 1954. He pursued his studies in theology and philosophy at the Major Seminary of Buenos Aires and was ordained a priest on November 18, 1983. He served as parochial vicar of San Cayetano Parish in Belgrano; pastor of the Santa Clara, Niño Jesús, and Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza parishes, as well as the San Cayetano Shrine; head of youth ministry for the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires and the Luján Pilgrimage; episcopal vicar for the *villas de emergencia* (informal settlements); dean; and member of the Presbyteral Council. On November 21, 2014, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Acque di Bizacena and Auxiliary Bishop of Lomas de Zamora, receiving episcopal ordination on February 27, 2015. Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Episcopal Commission for Liturgy and the Commission for Social Communication.
