Bishop Balthazar Ntivuguruzwa

Baltazar Ntivuguruzwa was born on September 15, 1967, in the Muhanga District. After studying at the Major Seminary of Philosophy in Kabgayi, he completed his theology studies at the Catholic University of Kinshasa and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Kabgayi on January 18, 1997. He held the following positions and pursued further studies: Vice-Rector and teacher at the Kabgayi Minor Seminary (1997–2000); Secretary to the Bishop of Kabgayi (2000–2003); Doctorate in Moral Theology from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and parochial vicar at Saint-Rémy and Sainte-Renelde in the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels (2003–2010); teacher and Prefect of Studies at the Nyakibanda Major Seminary (2010–2017); and, from 2017 to the present, Rector of the Catholic Institute of Kabgayi.
