Bishop of Mpika
Msgr. Edwin Mulandu was born on 15 July 1969 in Mufulira, diocese of Ndola, and attended the Emmaus Spirituality Centre Preparatory Seminary (1990-1991). He continued his philosophical formation at Saint Augustine’s Major Seminary in Mpika, obtaining a diploma (1991-1994). From 1994 to 1998 he attended the Theological Institute of Saint Dominic’s Major Seminary in Lusaka, where he obtained the Baccalaureate. He was awarded a Bachelor of Divinity degree by the Pontifical Urban University and a Master’s degree in applied ethics at Saint Augustine’s College, South Africa (2008-2011), and attended a BPP Professional course in Dublin, Ireland (2005-2007). He received priestly ordination on 4 August 2001 for the diocese of Ndola. Since ordination he has held the following offices: parish vicar in Masala (2001-2004); diocesan bursar (2001-2005); parish priest of the Christ the King Cathedral (2004-2005); parish priest of Saint Michael’s in Kalulushi (2007-2010); bursar and lecturer at Zambia Catholic University (2007-2013, 2009-2013); parish priest of Saint Peter’s in Kitwe (2013-2015); vicar forane of the deanery of Kamfinsa, and member of the presbyteral council and the college of consultors in Ndola (2014-2015). From 2015 to the present he has served as national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Zambia.
