Archbishop of Lille
Msgr. Laurent Le Boulc’h was born on 4 September 1960 in Loudéac, in the diocese of Saint-Brieuc. He entered the interdiocesan seminary of Vannes, where he attended courses in philosophy and theology, and was ordained a priest on 19 June 1988, for the diocese of Saint-Brieuc. After ordination, he first served as vicar of the Cathedral of Saint-Brieuc (1988-1991). He was then awarded a licentiate in theology from the Institut Catholique in Paris (1991-1993). He went on to serve as episcopal vicar for youth pastoral care (1993-2005); head of the pastoral care of Catholic schools (1993-2013); head of permanent formation (2003-2005); parish priest of Lannion, and head of the pastoral zone of the same name (2005-2013). On 5 September 2013 he was appointed bishop of Coutances, and received episcopal ordination the following 27 October. Within the Bishops’ Conference of France, he is chair of the “Territories and Parishes” Working Group, and member of the Council for movements and associations of the faithful.
