Archbishop of Tuxtla Gutiérrez
Bishop José Francisco González González was born in Yahualica, diocese of San Juan de Los Lagos, on 17 March 1966. He was ordained a priest for the metropolitan archdiocese of Guadalajara on 4 June 1995. He obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome and in biblical theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. After working in priestly formation and in the field of canon law, on 14 February 2008 he was elected titular bishop of Feradi Maius and auxiliary of Guadalajara, receiving episcopal ordination the following 10 April. On 12 February 2014 he was appointed bishop of Campeche.
