Archbishop of Huambo
Zeferino Zeca Martins, S.V.D., was born on March 8, 1966, in Cacolo, in the province of Lunda Norte and the Diocese of Dundo. He entered the Society of the Divine Word (S.V.D.) in 1988. He pursued his philosophy studies at the Major Seminary in Luanda and his theological studies at the University of Comillas in Spain, where he also obtained a Licentiate in Civil Law. He made his perpetual profession in Madrid on October 1, 1994, and was ordained a priest on August 6, 1995. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: chaplain for immigrants in Madrid, Spain; rector of the community of theology students and religious superior for the Madrid district; rector of his Congregation’s central house in Angola; provincial superior; and professor of law at the Catholic University of Luanda.
