Bishop of Amos
Bishop Joseph Ferdinand Guy Boulanger was born on 6 June 1963 in Whitton. He entered the Sherbrook Seminary, where he carried out his secondary studies. He enrolled at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil law. He continued his studies in philosophy at Sherbrooke and in theology at the Université Laval of Québec. He was ordained a priest on 26 October 1991 for the archdiocese of Sherbrooke. He attended courses in canon law at the Université de Saint-Paul in Ottawa, obtaining a doctorate in 2007. On 31 January 2020 he was appointed bishop of Rouyn-Noranda, and received episcopal consecration the following 28 August.
